Winter News Letter

imageAs we near the end of what has been a VERY busy year please let me apologise for the lack of news letters since the spring! I’m so sorry it’s just I seem to have spent most of the year on the road.

I would however like to reflect on the past year and what it has meant for Saddle exchange as there have been a lot of changes.

We kicked off the year by going to Equitana for the first time and now have contacts and a new trainee agent in Latvia, welcome Richard and Inga.

This year also saw Dean, Buffy and myself complete our MSFC Qualification, we have been studying for a year, submitted case studies and take 4 exams and we are very proud to say that we now hold the highest saddle fitting qualificatio in the world, the diploma from Utrecht Veterinary University. The journey was fascinating with us learning all about equine, Physiology, Biomechanics and Pathology and it has equiped us with an amazing amount of new knowledge. I feel that understanding the body of the horse to such a level and all about movement really helps in my understanding of the whole subject of horse welfare and training as well as saddle fitting and can only make me a more rounded saddle fitter.

msfc srtWe also joined the MSFC Society and with our continuing support of the Saddle Reasearch Trust are looking forward to becoming more involved in research into the whole subject of saddles and their fittiing.

MSFC Society secretary and qualified saddle fitter Georgie Welge also joined us as agent for East Anglia.

Buffy continues to go from strength to strength in Scotland and now saddle fitting full time,  has now extended her area down to include as far down as Ayreshire on the west side of Scotland and down as far as the Forth Bridge on the eastside.

Denmark has been very busy  and has seen myself and Dean visit at least every 2 months due to the birth of Signe’s  first baby in October , Signe is planning to return to saddle fitting asap but for the time being we are playing it by ear so please feel free to contact us directly if you would like a visit.

imageOur Monoflap range of saddles continues to be extremely popular and we have some exciting new saddles to launch in 2016, we have been working with  Matt Burnett  to develope our exciting new dressage  saddles and we are hoping to also have a couple of exciting new showing saddles to unveil when they have completed the trial stages. We have also recruited new saddle makers and employees for our office to meet the growing demand and have new agents in training for some parts of the uk as well as Europe.

We do however still need agents for some areas and will be looking to advertise these posts in the new year.

I better sign of now and go out and join in the saddle fitting at Healthy Horse with Dean and Sandie but I would also like to take the oportunity to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
